Chief Judge William E. (Billy) Woodrum Jr. has been judge of the Superior Court of the Ogeechee Judicial Circuit since his appointment by Governor Zell Miller in December of 1995. He has been Chief Judge since 2001. Judge Woodrum went to Georgia Southern University and The University of Georgia and received his law degree from the Augusta Law School. He served as county attorney for Jenkins County, and Judge of the Recorders Court of Millen before coming to the Superior Court Bench. Judge Woodrum and his wife Kathy live in Millen.

Judge John R. Turner (Robbie) was elected to the Superior Court Bench in July of 1996 and assumed his duties on January 1, 1997. Prior to his election to the Superior Court Bench, Judge Turner served as Public Defender and Assistant District Attorney for the Circuit and three terms as State Court Judge for Bulloch County. Judge Turner graduated from Georgia Southern University and received his law degree form The University of Georgia School of Law. He and his wife, Judy, live in Statesboro.

Judge F. Gates Peed (Gates) was elected to the Superior Court Bench in 2000 and began his duties on January 1, 2001. Prior to that , he had served as both Solicitor General and Judge of the State Court of Bulloch County. Judge Peed attended undergraduate school at The University of Georgia and received his law degree from Mercer University. He and His wife, Janet, have four children and live in Statesboro.

 

 

Faye Sanders Martin

Senior Judge, Superior Court

 

 

Judge Faye S. Martin was appointed to the Superior Court Bench in November of 1978 and assumed senior status on January 1 2001. Judge Martin was the first woman attorney in Bulloch County, the first woman to be appointed to the Georgia Superior Court bench and the first woman Chief Superior Court Judge in Georgia. Judge Martin graduated from Georgia Southern University and received her law degree from Woodrow Wilson College of Law in Atlanta.

 

 

Judge William J. Neville

Senior Judge, Superior Court

Judge William J. Neville was appointed to the Superior Court Bench in April of 1984 and assumed senior statues on January 1, 1997. Prior to his appointment to the Superior Court Bench, Judge Neville served as Judge for the Municipal Court of Statesboro, County Attorney for Bulloch County, Attorney for the Bulloch County Board of Education and was  elected member of the Georgia House of Representatives. Judge Neville graduated from Mercer University and received his law degree from the Walter F. George School of Law at Mercer University. He and his wife live in Statesboro.
